Stray Dogs Kill 100 Chickens at Poultry Farm in Kuttipalayam

Kuttipalayam, Kavundapadi – A tragic incident struck a poultry farm in Kuttipalayam, near Kavundapadi, on Monday as a pack of stray dogs attacked and killed 100 chickens. The farm, owned by Somasundaram, housed thousands of birds, and the attack has left the farmer in distress.

According to reports, Somasundaram discovered the incident early Monday morning when he noticed damage to the wire mesh fencing of the farm. Upon closer inspection, he found numerous chickens dead, confirming that stray dogs were responsible for the attack. He immediately alerted the Kavundapadi police, who visited the site and conducted an inspection.

The rising threat of stray animals attacking livestock has become a major concern for farmers in the region. In a separate incident, four goats belonging to R. Senthil Kumar of Majra Pappankattur, also near Kavundapadi, were killed by stray dogs in the early hours of the same day. The police are currently investigating both cases.

Such attacks highlight the need for better protective measures for poultry and livestock farmers. Stronger fencing, secure enclosures, and local animal control initiatives can help mitigate such unfortunate losses.
