NIRJULI, 13 Mar: In a significant step towards advancing poultry farming in Arunachal Pradesh, the Central Poultry Farm-cum-Central Hatchery (CPFCH) of the Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development Department has inaugurated a new training hall. The hall was officially opened by Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development Minister Gabriel D Wangsu on Thursday.
Established in 1977, CPFCH has long been a cornerstone of the state’s poultry industry, offering high-quality chicks and expert guidance to farmers. With the addition of the new training facility, the farm is set to provide advanced training sessions for poultry farmers, self-help groups, and entrepreneurs.
CPFCH Manager Dr. Radhe Gungte highlighted the benefits of the new hall, stating, “This training centre will be instrumental in providing advanced training to poultry farmers, self-help groups, and entrepreneurs. Workshops and technical sessions on scientific poultry management, disease control, and modern rearing techniques will be conducted here. Additionally, practical demonstrations and expert guidance will enhance hands-on learning.”
Dr. Gungte also reflected on the farm’s legacy, emphasizing its pivotal role in transforming poultry farming in the region. “Since its inception, the farm has introduced improved poultry breeds, scientific rearing techniques, and modern hatchery operations. It has played a crucial role in enhancing poultry farming, improving rural livelihoods, and promoting advanced training programmes,” he said.
Beyond training, the CPFCH has been a major contributor to the state’s economy, supplying high-quality chicks and technical knowledge to farmers. “Its contribution to the poultry sector has been remarkable, boosting the economy and ensuring sustainable poultry farming practices,” Dr. Gungte added.
With this new facility, poultry farmers in Arunachal Pradesh can now access enhanced resources to improve their practices, increase production, and ensure the long-term sustainability of their businesses.
