The Poultry Association of Andhra Pradesh is on a mission to bust the myths surrounding bird flu and reassure consumers about the safety of poultry products. As part of this effort, a grand Chicken and Egg Mela was organized on February 24, 2025, at the Rajahmundry Arts College premises in East Godavari district.
This vibrant event not only promoted the consumption of poultry products but also provided a much-needed boost to the local poultry industry, which has been impacted by bird flu scares in the Telugu states. Attendees were treated to a feast of delicious poultry dishes, including free servings of chicken biryani and boiled eggs. A video capturing the energy of the event, the enthusiastic crowd, and the mouth-watering delicacies has been making rounds on social media!
A Statewide Initiative for Poultry Promotion
The Rajahmundry event is part of a larger statewide campaign encouraging poultry consumption. Similar melas have been organized in various parts of Andhra Pradesh, including a massive gathering in Guntur, where visitors enjoyed servings of chicken dum biryani and boiled eggs. The success of these melas is evident in the overwhelming response from attendees, proving that poultry products remain a favorite among the public.
Social Media Buzz & Upcoming Events
Social media platforms are abuzz with discussions about these melas. Poultry lovers and industry supporters have been actively sharing their experiences. One user highlighted a mela in Kakinada, where a whopping 2,000 egg snacks and 400 kg of chicken snacks were distributed at Bhanugudi Junction!
Adding to the excitement, another Chicken and Egg Mela is scheduled for February 25, 2025, at NTR Stadium. The event kicks off at 5 PM, promising another round of delicious poultry delights and a strong message of support for the industry.
Local Eateries Join the Movement
Beyond these grand melas, local eateries are also stepping up to support the cause. A popular eatery, ‘Krack Onn’ in Prakash Nagar, Rajahmundry, is drawing in egg lovers with over 40 varieties of egg omelettes! This initiative is not only dispelling myths about poultry but also helping small businesses thrive.
The Poultry Association’s efforts are paying off, as people continue to enjoy their favorite chicken and egg dishes without fear. The message is clear—poultry products are safe, delicious, and here to stay!
