The 13th International Poultry Show 2025 and seminar have commenced in Dhaka, focusing on the theme “Sustainable Poultry for Amazing Bangladesh.”
Grand Inauguration by Fisheries and Livestock Advisor
Fisheries and Livestock Advisor Farida Akhtar inaugurated the three-day exhibition at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal on February 20, 2025.
With over 200 companies from 27 countries showcasing their latest technology and services in 825 stalls, the event is being hailed as South Asia’s largest poultry exhibition. It is presented by the World’s Poultry Science Association-Bangladesh Branch and the Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council.
A Hub for Poultry Innovation
The exhibition highlights various aspects of the poultry industry, including feed mills, hatcheries, breeder farms, commercial farms, processing, and recycling solutions. The event serves as a significant platform for industry professionals to explore the latest trends and technological advancements in poultry farming.
Emphasizing the Role of Women in Poultry Farming
During the inauguration, Adviser Farida Akhtar acknowledged the historical role of poultry farming in the private sector. She noted that in the past, chickens were primarily raised in rural households, often by women. She stressed the need to increase women’s participation in the poultry industry to foster further growth.
Addressing the World’s Poultry Science Association-Bangladesh Branch, she recognized the advancements in poultry feed production and highlighted the sector’s potential for expansion.
“Your progress means Bangladesh is progressing,” she remarked.
Challenges & The Way Forward
She also underscored the importance of safeguarding small farmers, emphasizing their vital role in the industry and its connection to livelihoods. Addressing concerns over the rising cost of poultry feed, she urged stakeholders to work together to find solutions for cost reduction, recognizing poultry producers as key contributors to the nation’s protein supply.
The 13th International Poultry Show 2025 continues to serve as a crucial hub for networking, knowledge-sharing, and innovation in the global poultry industry.
